Truecaller, which recently rolled out Truecaller Pay, has made a big announcement, that is set to boost its payments solution. As announced in anofficial blog post,Truecaller has now acquired India-based payments startup Chillr.Chillr employees will be absorbed into the Truecaller Pay setup and work out of the Truecaller development center in Bengaluru. Chillr co-founder Sony Joy will also be joining as the vice president of Truecaller Pay. Just to brush you up,Chillr was introduced a few years back as India’s first multi-bank payments app that allows you to send money instantly from your Bank account to anyonein your phone book or to a beneficiary using ‘Account number & IFSC code’ or ‘UPI ID’....

It was recently reported thatTruecallerhas access to a worryingly high amount of user data, which includes metadata of incoming and outgoing call records and messages, the online content viewed by users among others. An official from the Cyber Crime Police squad was even quoted as saying by theDeccan Chroniclethat Truecaller also records calling data and stores it on its servers. In response to these reports, Truecaller spokesperson contacted Beebom and sought to clarify the privacy policy....

Just last year, Dish had launched an Amazon Alexa skill for its Hopper and Wally set-top boxes that allowed users to change the channel, search for shows or control playback with their voice. Now, in anofficial blog post,Dish has announced that its users will now be able to set recordings, launch apps and navigate menus on its Hopper range of set-top boxes through Amazon’s Alexa-powered Echo devices. While users can alreadyplay or pause content with the Alexa voice assistant, the latest update will allow them to use commands such as “Alexa, launch Netflix” to open the app....

After weeks of teasing, Ubisoft finally unveiled Assassin’s Creed Odyssey today, and they did take their time covering the game in detail. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey takes players to the Greco-Roman era, which was pretty much already revealed by the early leaks and hints. Players will be able to choose their protagonist, whom they’ll play as for the whole game. They’ll play as either Alexios or Kassandra, two warriors traversing a picturesque if war-torn, country....

Rapture Rejects will feature the same characters we have seen in Cyanide & Happiness’ comics, but this time instead of trying to outsmart each other, they have to battle it out to survive the rapture – a classic C&H trope. Rapture Rejects is set on earth but God has abandoned humans and the result is a hellish setting where you have to kill every other person to win the game. The winner – or the person who kills the most – will gain entry into heaven, because this is Cyanide & Happiness after all....

The 8-minute long trailer starred Norman Reedus’ character Sam Bridges, the protagonist of the game. We saw him in a rainy, jungle-like environment trying to survive. His mission appears to be saving people who have been taken hostage by mysterious forces. This was something that we’ve previously seen in the older trailers of the game as well. Apart from that, the trailer also introduced us to two new characters. One is played by Lea Seydoux, who talks circles around Bridges and eats what appears to be a live maggot at the trailer’s end....

WhatsApp was expected to begin thewider rolloutof its UPI-based peer-to-peer payment service, WhatsApp Payments, in the first week of June, but it has again been delayed due to security concerns over WhatsApp sharing payments data with Facebook. “In some cases, we may share limited data to help provide customer support to you or keep payments safe and secure”, WhatsApp mentions on its official website, a fact that has raised widespread concerns over the security of users’ payments data and has apparently led to the delay in WhatsApp Payments’ wider rollout....

WhatsAppis an essential means of communication in India, but the government has now been made aware that the messaging app’s audio calling feature is being used by militants to stay in touch with handlers or associates across the border. Thus, it is now outlining strategies that can be used to tactfully block WhatsApp’s calling feature in such areas. This is a crucial topic of concern for many countries, including India, which is now set to take action against it....

The Indian Railways recentlyoverhauled the websiteof its catering and online booking services arm, IRCTC, to give the portal a cleaner and more inviting appearance.
