Xiaomi’s Lead Product ManagerJai Mani today confirmed Pocophonevia an official tweet, which read“Today is a special day. I’m excited to start sharing more about the new project I’ve been working on. Wish me luck! @IndiaPOCO @GlobalPocophone.” The details for Poco, which seems to be the informal name, are quite sparse for now but we at least now know that it will be coming to India, thanks to theIndiaPOCO Twitter handle....

More than 70 percent of smartphone users in India switched brands in the second quarter of this year, benefitting Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi the most which sold nearly 37 per cent of the phones that were replaced, according to a CyberMedia Research (CMR) report on Wednesday. Xiaomi was followed by Vivo (17.8 per cent), Oppo (16.3), iTel (6.7 per cent) and Huawei’s Honor (4.5 per cent), according to the first edition of the CMR “India Smartphone Movement” report....

Google introduced Chrome OS as an alternative to Windows and macOS, and while the company didn’t succeed in its ambitions the way it did with Android, it succeeded in creating a niche of computing machines targeted at users deeply invested in Google’s ecosystem of apps and services, and also gained popularity among students. Applehas finally relented in its battle against the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), and decided to fall in line with the agency’s demand to allow its controversial DND app access to user-info on iPhones. The company is believed to haveinformed the regulatorabout the new feature that will be rolled out withiOS 12, and will allow users to report spam calls and texts through third-party apps. TRAI even issued a circular last month, instructing mobile operators to shut down iPhones on their networks if Apple failed to comply with the regulations, although, many legal experts questioned the validity of that bizarre diktat....

Apple Music has received a new feature called ‘Friends Mix’ which allows you to track artists and songs your friends have been listening to in the past week. Friends Mix is located within the ‘For You’ tab and will show you 25 songs your friends have been enjoying recently. According to a report from TechCrunch, Friends Mix has begun appearing for some users who are running iOS 12 beta, however, it is not widely available for all Apple Music subscribers....
