After months of testing, Google has finally turned on native support for desktop notifications onWindows 10with Chrome 68. The feature was rolled out on macOS earlier this month with Chrome 59. The notifications are sent via the Action Center, andaccording to Thurrott.com, allows users to apply Windows 10’s custom notification settings to the browser. “Users can also choose to limit the number of notifications that are displayed, as well as their priority in the Action Center....

As India prepares to celebrate its 72nd Independence Day, Google has decided to showcase the leading apps on the Play Store made by Indian developers. Under the banner ‘Made by Indians’, five apps which serve different purposes have been highlighted on the Play Store as you scroll down the home page. Bengaluru-based Wickedride Adventure Services Pvt. Ltd, which operates bike rental service,Metro Bikes, has announced that it has raised $12.2 million (Rs 83.6 crore) in a round of fundraising led by Sequoia Capital India and Accel Partners. The consortium of investors also includes the founder of TaxiForSure, Raghunandan Gangappa. Wickedride is believed to have clinched the deal with Sequoia and Accel back in June, andaccording to TechCircle, it values the company between $20 million and $22 million (Rs 137 crore and Rs 151 crore)....

Digital payments major Paytm on Thursday announced the acquisition of Bengaluru-based smart-savings management startup Balance Tech for an undisclosed amount. Designed to build saving habits for users, the Balance app offers saving options in mutual funds that could get users interest rates of up to 8.65 per cent per annum. “Our team has been building automated products that make the saving experience relatable and delightful by helping users reach their goals in clever little ways,” Balance Tech CEO and Co-Founder Ankit Kumar said in a statement....
