Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation held on Wednesday revealed two pictures where we see Ellie as a grown-up and a much more sinister-looking Joel. The first season ended on a rather sad note where we see Joel collapsing to his injuries. A lot of people assume that Joel might die because that is what happens in The Last of Us Part 2 (video game). However, now it’s confirmed that he is alive and might stay that way for a while....

For those who are unaware, Gemini Nano is a lightweight and small LLM model that can perform on-device AI tasks. Google announced the Gemini Nano in December last year along with Gemini Ultra and Gemini Pro. As of now, Gemini Nano is only available on the Google Pixel 8 series and Samsung Galaxy S24. However, in its current state, Gemini Nano takes inputs only in the text format. With multimodal capabilities, Gemini Nano will be able to get contextual information and also get inputs from sounds, images, and spoken language....

Google says that developers and researchers have been asking for a larger open model that is easy to run and use. So Gemma 2 is a culmination of that effort. Google further says that the Gemma 2 27B model will outperform “some models that are more than twice its size“. For those unaware, Imagen is Google’s very ownAI model for text-to-image generationthat, as it suggests, lets you create AI-generated images through textual prompts. Demis goes on to state how: “…this is our best model yet for generating text, which has been a challenge for image generation models. In side-by-side comparisons, independent evaluators preferred Imagen 3 over other popular image generation models.” – Demis Hassabis, head of Google DeepMind Demis also gives us some reference, comparing the latest AI media generator with its predecessor, the Imagen 2....

For those unaware, the testing forAndroid 15started back in February with the first two Developer Previews, followed by the first Beta landing in April. Soon, Google rolled out a hotfix update to squash a few bugs. So far, we know Android 15’sinternal code nameand have also covered a host ofnew featuresthat might be coming tomorrow, alongside alist of features we’d like to see. As for compatibility, Pixel 6 and above devices should receive the Beta updates followed by a stable update sometime in August or October during thePixel 9launch....

Jon Dahlke, Director of Product Management for Google Chrome, unveiled this piece of information at the event. The integration will land in anupcoming Google Chrome 126 version. For those unaware, Gemini Nano has been out since the launch of the Pixel 8 series of devices, with the Pixel 8 Pro getting complimentary access to it. Later on, not just the vanilla Pixel 8, but even the Samsung Galaxy S24 series of phones received Gemini Nano....

The Gemini 1.5 Flash model has been developed for tasks where low latency and efficiency matter the most. It’s basically a smaller model, similar to Anthropic’s Haiku, but brings all of the latest advancements. Google has not disclosed the parameter size of the Gemini 1.5 Flash model. The feature is currently not available, but Google says that it’s coming soon on Gemini. You must be subscribed to Gemini Advanced to access this feature so keep that in mind. Apart from that, you can use Gemini Gems to create custom AI chatbots for your coding assistant who can help you while programming. In addition, you can create virtual AI personas of popular characters or an AI chef for cooking assistance....

The new Search with video feature inside Google Lens allows you to record videos of anything you’re curious about and share them with Google. It will thenuse Gemini to find the context of the videoand give you the answers you’re looking for. Senior Director of Google Product Management, Rose Yao did a small live demonstration of how this feature. She recorded a video of a vinyl record player and asked why its tonearm is drifting without actually using the word “tonearm”....

Google Search liason Danny Sullivan took to X to announce this new feature. And we are here to welcome it with open arms, given that it works as intended. I haven’t got access the feature yet, but an early look at it is giving me some high hopes. In the X post, Sullivan lets us know that the filter appears at the very top of your search results page, alongside other filters like News, Videos, Shopping, and more....

Google has announced that it is now making AI search overviews available to everyone in the US. This feature was previously known as SGE orSearch Generative Engine. It is available on Google search for web, Android, and the iOS app. AI Overviews will make its way to other countries by the end of this year. AI overviews will show up in a gradient color on top of the other search results....
